The holistic approach to pet care will consider a broad range of factors when diagnosing your pet’s health. Lifestyle, diet, home environment and daily routine can play an integral role in diagnosis and treatment.
Alternative therapies like Acupuncture, Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Chinese Herbs, Flower Essences, Homeopathy, NAET, and others, are more likely offered by a holistic clinic than a traditional vet.
The majority of our local vets currently practice traditional western (or conventional) medicine. This type of healing uses an approach which often focuses on treating symptoms with drugs or therapies to relieve a specific condition.
Both a traditional and holistic approach to pet care can be beneficial for the well being of your pet. We’ve found that most holistic vets normally incorporate traditional methods in their daily practice. Some conventional vets may incorporate a holistic approach in their diagnosis and practice, but may not offer alternative therapies.
