There may be times that your regular vet is not available for emergency cases or other than “routine” surgery.
When your dog or cat needs immediate veterinary care, regardless of what time or day it may be, an emergency clinic may be your best option. These clinics generally operate 24 hours/ day, 365 days a year. You may pay a premium for this immediate access, but in many cases it is better to sacrifice the money than the additional time required until another clinic is open.
Veterinary surgery clinics specialize in more involved surgical procedures than are normally done in most clinics. The surgical facility is equipped with the latest equipment, and handles referrals from local vets as well as walk in cases.
Whenever possible, try to speak with the doctor who will be performing the procedure on your pet to get your questions answered prior to making a commitment. You may find that one doctor prefers a particular procedure, or can offer options than another may not endorse.
