Fiber is not truly a nutrient, although it is essential to proper digestion.
Fiber can be either be “soluble” or “insoluble”. Both aid the digestive process by helping waste move thru your pets system properly.
Soluble fiber is partially broken down from its original form, but is not digested. Think of it as a gooey escort which helps lubricate waste material as it travels thru the body.
Insoluble fiber remains in pretty much the same form coming out as when it went in- think of your pet eating grass and what you see coming back out either end.
Fiber can help prevent both constipation and diarrhea.
