Universal Microchip Scanner in development

A new company, Chloe Standard, has begun development on a universal scanner for pet ID microchips. They have launched the beta version of their Microchip search engine, which aims to combine all Microchip registration information in a single online database, regardless of manufacturer. Currently, Microchip scanners are limited to a particular chip manufacturer and may only be able to identify the presence of, but not read, an implanted ID. A Universal scanner would solve that challenge.
