Now that we’re well into the first month of the new year, the usual slew of annual price adjustments continues to trickle in. More than 2 dozen manufacturers have changed pricing on their products in the past two months, with some items actually enjoying a price decrease for the first time in a while.
Granted, the manufacturers who dropped prices on some items also raised them on others. Overall, the changes have been modest, with a few surprising exceptions on selected canned foods. Seems like the canning facilities are once again straining capacity, which has led to shortages and price increases.
One line of food that has experienced a price decrease is Raw Advantage. Ironically, this excellent, local raw food line was recently discontinued by our supplier. Raw Advantage was the first raw food line Smiley Dog carried, back at the turn of the century. It is still made in small batches, and is one of the few certified organic raw lines available. We’re currently carrying their Rock Island Raw and Chicken Dinner. Other items are available by request.
As pricing from our suppliers changes, we do our best to hold the line on the amount of the increase that gets passed along to you. Our website reflects these changes when they are made and you’re always welcome to call or email for information not found on the website.
And remember, one way to eke out a bit more savings during seasonal price adjustments is with the Price Protection offered with our auto-delivery service. You can read more about price protection here, or ask about it the next time we chat!
