Precise has discontinued its Holistic Complete Chicken & Turkey Feline formula as it transitions to its G
rain-Free Turkey/ Chicken with Yellow Peas.
The company is now working with a new co-packer as it prepares to update the bags in its Naturals line and introduce new formulas. During this transition, we expect some short-term shortages on some formulas and sizes.
We’re currently experiencing backorders on large bags of the Precise Senior and Precise Holistic Complete Senior dry foods, as well as 5.5oz cans of Mixed Grill cat food.
More news of this transition and new products will be published as it becomes available.
Just received a large bag from Chewy.com of the dry cat food Salmon flavor. Looks quite different, shiny, smaller kibbles. My cats are turning their nose up at it where they used to race to their bowls for the old formula. What happened? I may need to seek out a new brand and I hate to as I’ve been feeding them this their entire 8 years.

Thanks very much for your inquiry. Sorry to hear you’re having difficulty with the latest bag.
The company has begun making significant changes to its product line, packaging and manufacturing processes. You’re likely seeing the start of this with the bag you received, and the rest of the line will be affected over the next 6 months. Our clients currently are not feeding this formula, so I’ve not had direct exposure to the changes.
At a recent trade Show, Precise announced some reformulations and new products expected to begin rolling out this Fall. That timeline may have accelerated if you’re seeing changes now.
If you have your previous bag, you may want to compare the Ingredients Lists to see if they are different. Whether it has changed or not, if your cat will no longer eat the food, you should be able to exchange it for another bag or different brand. I’m not sure how Chewy handles customer satisfaction returns, but Precise does guarantee their products. You should be able to resolve this with a refund or exchange.
