Do you have a catalog?
Once we’re rich and famous, perhaps we’ll have a full color, glossy catalog with pictures and answers to every question you’ll ever have. Until then, our website and shopping cart contains a representative listing of our products, with current prices. We no longer produce a printed pricelist, since our inventory is constantly updated with new, reformulated and discontinued items.
If you do not find what you’re looking for on the site, please email us and ask. Most unlisted items can be readily available for delivery within 1-2 weeks. You can also sign up for eMuse, our electronic newsletter.
I’m ready to place an order. What do I do now?
You’re welcome to email your order to us, or call us at (206) 903-9631. Either way, just let us know what you’d like and your preferred method of payment. We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, debit cards, checks, and cash. If this is your first order with us, please give us your address and pet’s name(s) as well. We’ll confirm your order or answer your questions within 24 hours.You can then send us your payment information with our Secure Order Form.
What is the best pet food?
We feel that the best pet food is a home prepared, raw diet, provided you have the knowledge to balance it properly and feel confident about the source of the ingredients you use. For the rest of us, there are many good quality commercial diets on the market. The foods in this category may be comparable in quality, but differ in approach. The “best” food for your pet is the one which your pet will eat and perform well upon. We’ll be happy to assist you in comparing or evaluating different brands.
Do you carry other brands of pet food?
We stock many of the better quality pet foods in a variety of sizes and formulas. Since pricing tends to change frequently, let us know what you’re interested in and we’ll gladly provide you with a current price quote.
How can I see more of what you carry?
Check the Events page to see when we will next have a display booth which you can visit. Or, give us a call and we’ll see if we can schedule an appointment for you.
What is your delivery charge?
For orders in our Standard Delivery Area or Expanded Delivery Area there is no charge for delivery. For mail orders we add actual shipping charges with no handling charge.
Do you have a minimum order?
Our minimum order is just $15 before sales tax and any coupons or discounts.
Should I tip your drivers?
Not unless you’ve just won the lottery. Our prices include free delivery. If you feel you must tip, just tell all your friends about us or make a donation to a local rescue organization.
How soon can I get my order?
Most orders are shipped or delivered within 72 hours (excluding weekends).
I keep waiting until I’m out of food to place my order. Can’t you get here any sooner?
We might be able to, but it may be at the expense of our other clients who give us the requested 72 hour notice (excluding weekends) with their orders. Talk to us about setting up an auto-delivery schedule based on your past usage and your troubles will be over.
Do I have to be home when you deliver?
Much as we’d love to meet you and your pets, it’s not necessary for you to hang around waiting for us to show up. We’ll be happy to leave your order at your door, around back or with a neighbor depending on your instructions.
How do I pay for this stuff?
We accept cash, checks, Discover, Visa, Mastercard, American Express & debit cards. We’re happy to keep a card number on file for you if you find that to be convenient.
Do you have any indestructible chew toys?
We’re still searching, just like you. We do carry a few very durable toys including Kongs, Hurleys, Planet Pet, “Indestructible Balls”, Galileo & natural bones.
What’s a squeaky toy that my dog won’t destroy in 5 minutes?
You’ll have to ask your dog. If your dog has a tendency to tear into toys to “investigate” a squeaker, no squeaky toy will last all that long. If your dog has more of a tendency toward chewing rather than tearing, our squirrels, tugs, balls and other shapes we carry have held up quite well. The fur toys we carry have proven to be among the most durable on the market (according to our Test Lab) Material Dog toys, featuring a replaceable squeaker pouch, do not have any extra interior stuffing for your dog to rip into. Our old favorite, the Fun Ball is a favorite, as are the JW Pet Cuz toys.
What do you recommend for fleas?
We recommend you avoid getting them if at all possible. Feeding a good quality food and using a nutritional supplement will help boost your dog’s resistance to fleas. If it’s already too late, we first recommend a flea comb and natural flea shampoo or spray. This will help you determine the extent of your problem. From there you must determine if the problem is confined to the house or if it exists outdoors as well. Depending on the extent of your problem, we offer a variety of flea products to help you gain the upper hand.
I’m looking for an item that’s not included in your site or on your Price List. How can I find it?
Let us know what it is and we’ll put our Special Order Hounds on the job. Give us as much info as you can- item name, size, where and what you’ve heard about it and manufacturer (if known). Once we find a source for your item, we will contact you with a price quote and gladly place the order if you wish. Please be aware that Special Order items are not returnable once ordered.
Can I give you food to donate to pet related organizations?
Certainly! We’d be happy to accept donations which we will then pass along to local pet related charities and service organizations. Just let us know that you’d like us to pick up your items when we make your delivery. Your contributions have gone to help needy animals at Summit Assistance Dogs, the Humane Society, PAWS, Homeward Pet, Greyhound Adaption, Pasado’s Safe Haven, SPDR, PetShelter.org, Whisker City, and other worthy causes.
