It’s more than just a clever name. It’s a very clever, eco-friendly product which neutralizes pet waste odor.
DooKashi was developed in 2012 by Eco Pet Waste Systems in Kirkland, WA to solve a very common problem- how to minimize the distinctive odor of pet waste both indoors and outdoors.
DooKashi is a natural product containing wheat bran, rice bran, blackstrap molasses and certified organic microorganisms which eliminates even the most offensive pet waste smells without chemicals, perfumes or masking agents. It’s safe for both pets and humans if ingested.
An ideal litter box additive, DooKashi both extends the life of your litter as well as controls odors. Simply add a cup to your litter box and mix. To extend your litter further, add one cup of DooKashi weekly between each litter box change.
This odor eliminator can also be used in outdoor pet waste composting system, directly on pet waste in the yard, in chicken coops or small animal enclosures. DooKashi is similar in function to a zeolite-based product formerly sold by Smiley Dog, but goes further by being lightweight and economical.
A small package will last up to 2 months with a single cat and sells for $15.75.
And the name? It is taken partially from the centuries-old Japanese farming practice Bokashi, which used the microorganisms in local soils to reduce the odor of food waste. We’ll leave it to you to figure out where the Doo comes from.
